In 1981, Pastor Mike received the call into ministry and heeding that calling he became a minister of the Gospel. With this calling came a God-driven desire to start a church. In November of 1982, Williamstown Assembly of God Church (WAG) was born. The church began with seven attendees, and we were meeting in what is now known as Williamstown Middle School. By the grace of God and the obedience of Pastor Mike to the calling, the church began to grow. WAG then began meeting in a converted apartment on Main St in Williamstown. God continued to add to the church and a storefront was added adjacent to the converted apartment. The church held its main service in the storefront and the converted apartment was used for our children’s church ministry.

God continued to grow the ministry of Williamstown Assembly of God and by His grace we were able to purchase 16 acres of land on E. Malaga Road where our church building is currently located.

Pastor Mike’s vision for the church was always, and still is to this day, to keep God as the head of the church. WAG is a community of believers that put their full trust and faith in God not in word, but in action. God has continued to sustain us and has provided all our needs. The mission of the church is based on the Great Commission which is why since 1982 we hold to being a church that is “Here For God” and “Here For Others”.

After serving in the church for 37 years, Pastor Mike retired as Lead Pastor and transitioned to eternity in 2021. His love and obedience for God, as well as his legacy and vision for the church, continue to be the driving force of the ministry of Williamstown Assembly of God.
